Note : I blog on my personal space at riteshnayak.com/blog . I mirror the content here  for emotional and statistical reasons. Please read this article to learn how to shift to reading my new blog.

I am spending this weekend at Barcamp Bangalore, an unconference, a gathering of people who share and discuss technology. I myself gave a talk on the evolution of social networks. You can find the the presentation at my home page or just click here.

The next couple of articles will basically center around things I learnt at barcamp3 . There are a lot of topics that are being discussed ( click here to view the list of topics ), Im unhappy i couldnt attend them all, but whatever i could attend ,I shall cover.

Samparkh.com relaunched !!

samparkh
After almost three months of hard work, Samparkh has relaunched with a new outlook. Along with the refreshing looks are certain improvements to the usability of the site. Images can be uploaded more easily and are seamlessly integrated across the length of the application. Also a new addition to this release is the ever evasive Chat. Yes, chat has been released in its highly volatile state.    I request all the users to be a little gentle on the chat front as its not completely stress tested ;-)

The application has come a long way to its current state. The intro flash gives an insight into the future of samparkh. The tags listed are all the aspects that the site plans to cater to and the intro, honestly,  is an embodiment of the vision of the site.

Samparkh was started out as a Social network built for and by Indians. The plethora of socionets do not cater to Indian audiences and hence Indians feel estranged and lost in such site’s with a majority of content and people from other countries. Samparkh intends to bridge that gap by letting the users request/comment on features and other ops through their blog. Samparkh also will develop its site keeping Indian audiences in mind and also take feature requests fromo its users. Many of its currently existing features are a result user requests. The idea is to involve people in the process of establishing and developing a healthy soical network.

I am proud to be a part of the samparkh team where I satisfy my techno urges. Rest assured, you will hear a lot about Samparkh in the coming days :-)
